Course Description
This Language Artw Course is designed to provide students in grade seven motivating yet meeting Language Arts experiences. This course is an action-based program designed to motivate the students to create various written products.
Instructional Philosophy
This course allows students to experience Languag Arts in real life situations. The topics are teacher-directed materials and include the use of ipads, computers, computer software, videotapes, textbooks, and hands-on activities. The instruction will be lecture demonstrations and a great deal of student participation. The course will integrate other subject areas in each assignment. The course will require students to work in groups as well as independently, follow written and oral directions, and solve problems on a daily basis.
Student assessment will be based on teamwork, daily assignments, participation, and written/oral reports.
Upon completion of this course, students would have been afforded opportunities to experience Language Arts in a more rigorous setting while engaging in hands-on life experiences.
Course Goals
The goals of this course include but are not limited to the following:
Assist students in understand Language Arts concepts.
Develop skills necessary for self-directed learning and problem solving.
Appreciate Language Arts and understand the importance of the writing processes.
Class Rules
Be in your assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
Bring required books and materials to every class, unless told otherwise by the teacher.
Listen and stay seated when someone is speaking.
Follow directions the first time they are given.
Turn assignments in on time.
Treat everyone and their property respectfully.
No gum, candy, drinks or foods of any kind are allowed in this class!

ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN CLASS ON TIME. TARDIES WILL BE TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION OF SATURDAY SCHOOL.
