Hello! Welcome to 7th Grade Math!
There are many activities one can do to practice math, reading and writing. Here are a few suggestions:
Thought of the Day: Keep a notebook and write one sentence to express a thought about your day. Include at least one number in your thought.
Word of the Day: Pick a key word from a favorite book or a favorite song. See how many times you can find that word in books or magazines at home in a period of two minutes. Time yourself!
Number of the Day: Take the day of the month and find that number of things in your home. If the date is a number under ten, add fifteen to it. For example, if the date is November 3, add 15 to 3. Your number is 18. Find 18 things in your home and write them as a list.
Story of the Day: Fill in the blanks, and continue writing a number story.
The date was _____________________ . I was holding _______ boxes of _________ . I was on my way to ________ . I couldn't wait to get there . . .
Problem of the Day: Look around your home. Think of a math word problem using things in your home. Have someone you live with work out the problem. (Example: There were sixteen juice pouches in each box. There were twelve boxes on the shelf. How many juice pouches were on the shelf?)
