 Welcome students and parents!

I am enthusiastic, passionate, and excited about teaching and education.  I have very high expectations for my students and myself.  Therefore, failure is not an option.  I am looking forward to an exciting, productive, and rewarding school year.  I believe a good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher.

There is much to be done, taught, learned, mastered, and achieved, but we only have 180 days to do it.  So let us begin!  We will be running a marathon this year that will demand endurance, diligence, humbleness, cooperation, and optimism.  Are you ready?

I believe that learning opens many doors.  It requires each student to remain diligent to the discipline that learning requires, so you can obtain all of the rewards that academic knowledge provides.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by letter (letters can be sent by student), phone, or email.  The school's telephone number is (912) 884-6677 or use the best method of communicating with me via email.  My email address is [email protected] .  My planning period is daily from 9:45-1O:55 AM.

Below you will find information that will be helpful throughout the school year.  Take the time to review and discuss information with your child.  Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

Classroom Procedures

  1. Report to class on time and bring all items needed for class.
  2. Enter classroom quietly.
  3. Always check board for standards, copy down any assignments into agenda and begin on warm-up assignment.
  4. Students will follow directions promptly and stay on task throughout class period.
  5. Students should raise their hand and wait to be recognized to answer questions or leave work area.
  6. Homework is turned in before homeroom in a tray designated for student's class period.
  7. Students will clean and organize work area before leaving class.
  8. Students will be held responsible for any damage done to school property.
  9. Students will wait for me to dismiss class and exit quietly.
  10. Students will follow all i Pad rules established by each teacher.
  11. Students will turn  their cell phone off and place into locker until the end of the day.

Homework

Homework will be assigned Monday thru Thursday and Fridays as needed.  Homework is turned in during homeroom.  If homework is not turned in on time, the student will receive a zero for that assignment.  Homework will not be accepted late from students who are present during homeroom.

Absences

Students will not be able to make up assignments for unexcused absences.  The grade will be recorded as a zero.  Therefore, it is very important to make sure students are in school.  If the need arises for them to be out, please be sure it is for an excused reason and provide proper documentation.  Tests and quizzes will be made up on the day the student returns to school from an EXCUSED ABSENCE  and will be taken during class (unless otherwise indicated). Students will have 3 days to make up any missed assignments.  It is the student's responsibility to make sure that they receive their missed assignments.

Keys to Success:

  1. Be in class and on time every day.
  2. Participate fully in all classrooms discussions, activities, and projects.
  3. Complete all classroom work and turn it in on time
  4. Complete all homework and turn it in on time.
  5. Study and prepare for quizzes and tests in advance.
  6. Read daily.
  7. Make up all missing work.
  8. If you need help, ASK!
  9. Always try your best.
  10. Have a positive attitude.

Cheating

Any student caught cheating will automatically receive a zero on the assignment. If a student gives another student his or her work to copy, both parties will receive a zero.   Please review page 33 of the Liberty County School System Student Information and Code of Conduct.

It states the following:

Cheating:

● A student is not allowed to copy another’s work and submit it as his/her own or let someone else copy his/her work. A student may not secure answers from others or provide answers to others on individual school assignments and/or tests. Any form of cheating will not be tolerated. In Grades K-12, a grade of zero will be assigned to the student(s) found cheating and the student(s) may not make up the test or assignment.
