WELCOME TO THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR!!

Hello!  My name is Theresa Walthour and this is my 25th year of teaching!  I am so excited to be your math support teacher this year.  Here is a little information about me so that you can get to know me better.

I am originally from Niagra Falls, New York but have lived in the South most of my life.  As long as I can remember, I have loved math!  I love learning about how things work and solving problems. At first I thought I wanted to be a marine biologist but I realized that I loved to teach children and expecially the middle school years.

I graduated from Lassiter High School (Marietta, GA) in 1986 (go ahead and say it.  You weren't even born yet!).  I graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro in 1996 with a degree in middle grades education.  I was able to find a home in Liberty County Schools right away.  I began at Hinesville Middle School until it was torn down.  I then moved to Snelson Golden Middle School and have been an Eagle ever since.

I have always loved working with all kinds of students.  I realized when I was in school that "One Size does NOT fit all!"  I strive to teach to all learning styles and make math FUN!

When I am not teaching, I'm usually spending time with my husband and three children .  We live in Midway near our family and friends.

I enjoy playing computer games, eating Mexican food, and drinking Starbucks coffee.  I love watching NCIS and Law and Order or any crime show.  I also love cooking, reading on my iPad, and watching movies.

I hope you learned a little more about me through this page!
