Georgia Studies

Students in Georgia studies will focus on nine key concepts of social studies while learning about the geography, history, government, and economics of Georgia.

Textbooks:  Each student will be issued and responsible for a Georgia and the American Experience textbook which must be used both at home and at school.  Students must bring this book with them to class each day and take it home as needed.

Homework:  Homework will generally be assigned 2 or 3 times per week.

Composition Book (GA Studies Journal)/ Warm UP:  There will be an activity on the board for the students to complete at the start of class.  The students will have approximately five to seven minutes to complete this activity which may range from an entry current events to class review to personal opinions or political cartoons.  Students will need a composition book which is dedicated to Georgia studies daily Warm Up questions. Pages should not be torn out of the composition book.  It needs to remain in class every day without exception and will be graded one time per week.
