Quinton Township School's Response to Intervention program aims to provide children with the support and interventions they need to be successful.

Students in Kindergarten through fourth grade are screened three times a year -- fall, winter, and spring -- to ensure that students are meeting certain benchmakrs in reading. Students are assessed in a whole group in the areas of vocabulary, silent reading fluency, and comprehension. Oral reading fluency are also administered to each student individually.

Our goal is make sure that students are offered every opportunity they require to be successful. Students receiving Tier One interventions will remain in the classroom, while the classroom teacher provides additional strategies and resources to assist the child. Children who receive Tier Two or Tier Three interventions will work with me two to five days per week to focus on specific strategies and skills. This extra support occurs in small groups or one-on-one sessions.
