COURSE TITLE: 8th Grade Math/Honors
TEACHER: Mrs. Ortega
I. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Reveal is a computer-based Math program. This program was specially developed to provide comprehensive coverage of the Common Core State Standards for Math. The Reveal program includes an Interactive Student Edition workbook. Each lesson specifically targets one or more of the standards for Mathematical content.
II. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT: Academic requirements consist of classwork, homework, quizzes, projects, and tests. All assignments MUST BE completed within the time allotted. You and your child can access homework assignments and other materials through McGraw-Hill Education, www.my.mheducation.com.
III. EVALUATION/GRADING: Students will be evaluated on written and oral classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, projects, notebooks, and Reveal book. All work will be based on the scale established by the Board of Education as listed in the Student Handbook.

IV. HOMEWORK: NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.
V. AMNESTY WEEK/EXTRA CREDIT: Students may earn extra credit for assignments not completed by the due date during Amnesty Week. The students will be able to complete assignments that were given 2 weeks prior to Amnesty Week. AMNESTY WEEK WILL TAKE PLACE THE 1ST FULL WEEK AFTER INTERIMS. If they need to stay after, please make arrangements with me to make sure I have no prior commitments. Below are the percentages for partial credit:
Monday - 80% of grade
Tuesday - 70% of grade
Wednesday - 60% of grade
Thursday - 50% of grade
Friday - 40 % of grade
VI. CLASSWORK: The students will have the opportunity to work on classwork during class in groups. Each student will have a job when completing group work. They will earn PBIS points for adhering to their job. Whatever is not finished in class will be completed for homework. FRIDAYS(or the last day of the week) will be an ALEKS/Make-Up Day for my classes.
