Welcome Parents!

This school year your child will be instructed in classroom 214 or 204-A. Your child will be taught the 4 major subjects: Language Arts Literacy, Social Studies, Science and Math. In Language Arts, students will explore the English language by reading and analyzing novels of various genres, poetry, music, plays and more. Your child will become proficient in language by perfecting their vocabulary, reading and writing skills.  Students will participate in individual guided reading groups.

We will be using many math manipulatives and hands on techniques to get students ready for the PARCC State Assessment.

In Social Studies we will exploring U.S. History. Some areas we will study are The First Americans, The English Colonies, The Civil War, and America to the present time. Also in Science we will study life, earth and physical sciences. Students will complete a series of different labs. Projects are due in all subject areas. Information will be sent home ahead of time to assist your child.

Assessments in all subjects will include test, quizzes, classwork, homework, and projects. Students will be notified in advance of upcoming test. Quizzes and or tests will be given once a week to evaluate mastery of concepts taught.

The administrator will decide the appropriate course of action based on the Board of Education's Discipline Policy. Appropriate punishment may include: Detention, probation, and in most cases a parent conference will be conducted. Suspensions will be carefully administered after any serious incidents of misconduct and a parent conference.

All students are required to report to classes by 8:30 a.m. Students found walking in the halls or in lavatories without passes will be referred to their teacher and detained after school.

It is therefore practical that we set some general rules for all students to follow. All students are expected to:

 1. Show respect and courtesy for adults and each other.

 2. Respect self, adults, and property.
 3. Be responsible for their own actions and realize the consequences.

 4. Be prepared for class and stay on task.

 5. Wear school uniforms or dress appropriately.

6. Keep hands and feet to themselves at all times

Please feel free to come in and visit your child at anytime!

Let's Have A Successful Year!
