Meet the Teacher...
The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.
Intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education.
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Hello! I am Mrs. Karen Ebert.
I grew up in Pennsylvania and Maryland, then moved to New Jersey way back in 1978.
I live in Egg Harbor Township with my family and our dog, Tanner.
Working in our school district over 21 years now, I've spent 17 years teaching First Grade and
am now enjoying my 3nd year teaching Kindergarten.
When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
You could say I'm passionate about teaching my students the importance of
embracing a growth mindset,
developing good character,
maintaining healthy minds and bodies,
and becoming good stewards of our environment.
I love creating hands-on learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom such as
raising and releasing butterflies and tadpoles,
having fun with innovation and STEM designs; also
planting, discovering, and harvesting in our School Garden.
My class develops a sense of community by thinking of ourselves as a "Family of Friends"
who show kindness, respect, and a love for learning and each other everyday.
