Welcome, or welcome back, to the West New York Middle School. My name is Mr. Beltre, and I am the Social Studies teacher for House 4, the STEAM House. During the 2026 - 2027 school year, our focus will be divided between American History and Civics. We will begin with the a survey of the US Constitution. Then we will begin US History proper with Industrialization, Immigration, and Expansion. Next we will focus on the Antebellum Period, the American Civil War, and Reconstruction.
During Civics, we will identify what are the requirements, duties, and tasks of citizenship. Students will delve into important government documents (US Constitution) and understand how government works on a local, state, and national levels.
I want to let anyone who clicks on this page know that you will always be valued, heard and considered in our classroom.
