Welcome to 5th Grade!
Mrs. Ronning Room 611
Welcome to Eisenhower Intermediate School!
I am excited to have you join our classroom for ELA! I know coming to a new school can be a little scary, but I promise you Room 611 will feel like home in no time.
There will be a lot of new things at Eisenhower compared to your primary school. One BIG change is that you will have a locker. If you can, please take some time to practice opening a combination lock or watching a YouTube video showing how to open a locker. This will make opening your locker on the first day of school less scary. We will have plenty of time to practice lockers on the first few days of school. While you can't decorate the outside of your locker, you may decorate the inside of your locker. Stickers are not permitted, but anything magnetic is allowed. You are also welcome to bring your own collapsible locker shelf (available on Amazon or at Target/Staples/etc) to help you be more organized.
Another change is that you will also be changing classes for different subjects. Please check your schedule to see which teachers you have for each subject. A general supply list was shared with your parents earlier this summer. You will be given a ChromeBook that you will take to ALL of your classes. There are one or two additional things that I would love you to have for ELA. First is a THREE-SUBJECT spiral notebook. This will keep all our ELA work in one place. The second is a gallon Ziploc baggie to carry your book club supplies. And you should have a silent reading book with you every day!
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2nd. It will be a full day of school, so come prepared to eat lunch. You may pack a lunch or purchase lunch from the cafeteria.
I am looking forward to meeting you on the first day of school. When you get off your bus, there will be many staff members around to help you find our classroom. When you arrive at Room 611, I will be in the hall to greet you. Be sure to read the sign I'll be holding! Then you'll enter our room and find your desk. We will start the fun when all of us are in the room.
Enjoy the last few days of summer! See you on 9/2!
