*You can help your child by reading with them at home each evening.
Practicing addition and subtraction facts will also benefit your child greatly.
     Flashcards are perfect for this!

*Another idea for extra academic support is to review your child's daily
      work papers
at home with them. Ask them questions about the work.
If items are incorrect on a test,
etc. , review that skill with your child.

*Don't forget to use the Caloosa brochure sent home  to access computer sites

for extra reading and math practice.

*Also visit www.leeschools.net for student activites to practice reading. When you

locate the site, click on "students" tab. When that page loads, there are various

         activites on the right.

*Please remember to read at home each evening with your child.

*Students can earn no-uniform passes for bringing in 25 Box Tops for
        Education found on various
grocery items, such as cereal, cake mix, etc.

*Please remember to return library books to school each day. We use them
here,  as well as at home
for  homework practice. We will be chosing 3 books

each time. A.R. books need to be read 2 times with an adult before testing.

Please remember to record information in the reading log.  The reading
log needs to stay in the pocket folder. (homework folder)

*All students need to practice math facts. (addition and subtraction)
Facts need to be memorized to increase speed with math assignments
           and drills.

*Our curriculum this year is rigorous.

Please talk with your child about the importance of

listening and good behavior. Many times classroom behavior is

       reflected in grades.

*Students may now wear pink uniform shirts in addition to other

        colors previously allowed.

*Please help us to help you. Keeping transportation changes to

a minimum helps to get children home the correct way.

*Early Dismissal Days -Dismissal begins at 12:10.

*1st   Grade Awards will be in the classroom on Wednesday, May 30,

at 8:30 A.M. The awards are informal.

                           Thanks!
