Welcome to Room 22!
I would like to take this opportunity to say hello and welcome you and your child to fourth grade!
I am sure that most of you are familiar with the Action 100 initiative. The District's goal is that every child will be reading at proficient or above grade level and that they will reach 1,000 steps by the end of the school year. Each step represents 15 minutes of independent reading. To do this I will need your help and support. Parents, grandparents, siblings and friends need to encourage the children to read on a daily basis. Please listen, enjoy and talk about the take-home books, complete the reading log and then return the books to school so new books can be sent home. I am confident that together we will reach our goal again this year while developing in each child a joy of reading.
