Welcome parents and students. I am so excited to teach 8th grade Language Arts this year. After 13 years of teaching 7th grade Language Arts, I am overjoyed to work with our 8th graders and the new standards that are involved. Eighth grade is a critical year for our standardized test, the GMAS. I know that we face uncertain times and it is my goal to help students and parents to work through this process.
Students are responsible for their learning and I expect them to come to class every day prepared to engage in the lesson.
Students will be expected to read a grade-level Accelerated Reader novel or use a digital novel program known as MYON at least 20 minutes each night.
