Classroom Policies and Expectations

As a class, we created the following set of expectations to keep our classroom running smoothly and keep everyone feeling safe, comfortable, and most importantly, learning alot!

1. Listen and follow directions

2.  Be respectful

3.  Keep hands and feet to yourself

4. Use PAX voices

5.  Work and play safely

Everyone starts their day in “Ready to Learn”.  Students that need reminders about making good choices will move to “think about it” and “Teacher Consequence”. On “Teacher Consequence”, students may lose recess time.  If necessary, I will contact home to let youknow what happened that day. At the end of each day, students who are on "Ready to Learn" or above will receive a ticket.  Once students collect ten tickets, they can cash in for a classroom reward.

Things I would love to see your child with in school every day

        * Weather-appropriate clothing and outerwear. We go outside every day unless it is below 32 degrees.

*A packed lunch, lunch money, or appropriate balance in their lunch account.

        *A healthy snack and drink.

*Their homework folder and homework pad should come to school and be turned in every day to me, even if it's empty. It helps the children stay organized and understand the importance of classroom routines.

 *Completed homework when assigned.

*Sneakers for gym days and for outdoor recess.

*A smile and a positive attitude.

Things I would not like to see in school

*Electronic devices (DS games, cell phones, ipods, etc)

*Outside toys/games/trading cards. They are a distraction and cause problems in the classroom. Please reinforce this at home and check your child's backpack on a regular basis.
