Welcome to Second Grade!
Second grade is an exciting year filled with growth, discovery, and new adventures in learning! Students build upon the skills they developed in first grade while becoming more confident, independent learners. Throughout the year, your child will strengthen reading comprehension, develop detailed writing, build fluency in addition and subtraction, and so much more.
My goal is to make learning fun, meaningful, and exciting while fostering a genuine love of learning that will last throughout your child’s school years.

So much happens in second grade! While students will learn and grow at an incredible pace, it is important to remember that every child develops at their own rate. We celebrate small successes, build confidence, and provide a safe and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Maintaining your child’s self-esteem and creating a strong foundation for future success will always be a priority in our classroom.

Celebrate every success! Even the smallest accomplishments deserve recognition. Your encouragement helps your child feel proud and excited about learning.

Read every day. Read to and with your child—even if you are reading in a language other than English. Exposure to language and stories helps children develop stronger reading, vocabulary, and writing skills.

Partner with me. A strong parent-teacher relationship is an important part of your child’s success. We are a team, and together we can help your child grow both academically and personally.
