Welcome Parents,

We are coming up to the time of year when we begin our Individual Educational Plan Meetings. You will receive a notice in your child's folder and through the mail. Please make note of the date and notify your teacher that you will attend or make arrangements for the meeting to proceed without you. We will begin with our Pre-K Risers, those moving on to a Kinderarten program in the fall. Do not go to School Choice until after your IEP meeting is held, as you will need the new paperwork.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please send me a note or call the school at 303-3003 and ask to be put through to my room. You can also email me at .Please check the website weekly for classroom news and upcoming dates and events.

Many of you have asked what you can do at home to help your child. My answer is READ. Read to your child daily and point to pictures and tell your child the names of the pictures in the book, it's important to give your child labels. Take your child into the community and practice appropriate behavior and skills.

Have conversations with and around your child. By listening to you have a conversation with someone, they learn how language and conversation works. Even if your child cannot answer you, keep up a steady dialog with them like they can. They need to hear words to learn to make the sounds.

We are here for you and, together, I know we can create the best learning environment for your child.

Reminder- Pleases call transportation and the school when your child is absent.

Thank you,

The VPAA Pre-K Team
