Personal Background

I graduated from Hammond High in 1982, my class was the last one to have the pleasure of holding the commencement ceremony in the "Cow Palace". I attended Centenary College and Southeastern until 1986 when I joined the United States Air Force. My tour in the U.S.A.F. consisted of two tours overseas, the first in England and the second on the Greek island of Crete. Once my enlistment was over, I returned to Hammond and attended Southeastern and the University of New Orleans where I graduated with a B.A.S. in Anthropology. My original goal was to return to college to study Archaeology so I could have an excuse to play in the dirt! Plans changed and I entered the restaurant business working for several establishments in the New Orleans area. I returned to U.N.O. in 2002 and received my teaching certification in 2004. I taught in New Orleans for one year until Katrina brought me home. I was hired at HHS in 2006 and am extremely proud to be associated with this school. In 2006, I entered the Masters of History program at Southeastern and graduated in 2010. In 2014, I graduated from the Masters in Educational Leadership program at SLU.
