My name is Kristi Gaude, and this is my 9th year teaching Champ Cooper Cougars; however, it is my 27th year as an educator. I graduated magna cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K-8). A few years after graduating, I became highly qualified in all subjects. I also became a LATAAP mentor and assessor for new teachers as well as a supervising teacher for student teachers. My proudest accomplishments are my family, earning Teacher of the Year twice, and knowing that I have made a difference in many lives. I have been happily married 25 years and have two daughters, Alyssa (22) and Alayna (16). My family and I love traveling, camping, hiking, biking, and hanging out with our dog, Drew.

As Champ Cooper's Alternative teacher, I am dedicated to promoting positive behavior; therefore, my main goal is to guide students to always be Kind, Resposible, and Safe while in and out of school. It is a known fact that all children learn differently, so I am a firm believer in DIFFERENTIATING strategies in order to motivate students to feel successful in academics and behavior.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and/or concerns.
