School-Based Alternative Program Classroom Expectations  

 

  • Students are to respect the teacher and all other individuals who are in the Alternative classroom. 

  • Students are to wear their I.D. and correct uniform. Jackets and sweatshirts must be removed upon entering the Alternative classroom.

  • Students are to keep all electronic devices powered off, and place them in the designated area. (Cell phones, Smartwatches, AirPods, etc.) 
  • Students are to leave school bags at home, bringing only necessary items.
  • Students are to remain in assigned seats and complete assignments, reflections, and/or academic enrichment activities, and label work with their name, teacher's name, and date.  
  • Students are to refrain from talking with other students, using foul language, displaying disruptive behavior, or engaging in physical contact.  
  • Students are to reflect upon behavior by participating in Social Emotional Learning/Character Strong Tier 2 sessions as well as engage effectively and safely in Community Service. 
  • Students are prohibited from chewing gum, eating food or candy within the Alternative classroom, excluding breakfast and lunch.
  • Students are to use the restroom during authorized breaks.
  • Students are to stay awake. Sleeping will not be tolerated.
  • Students are to respect the Alternative classroom. Vandalism will not be tolerated. 
  • All regular school rules are to be followed as set forth in the school handbook.
