                                                          BUSINESS  MATH

 

 

       Business Math is a needed course of instruction.  It focus on life skill needed for the future of our students.  It also serves a a foundation for All students to learn to make mathematically sound decisionin their roles as consumers, employees, and/or entrepreneurs.  In this course students explore various areas of personal financial planning such as making career decisions, managing income, buying insurance, making career decisions, managing income making sound credit and investment decision and managing a business.

     Mastery Keys is the only resource specifically designed to prepare students to earn a Silver National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), which signifies a proficiency in the work skills necessary for 69% of the jobs in ACT WorkKeys database.  These workbooks will help students score a Level 3 or higher on each of the ACT workkeys NCRC assessments.

Business Math

        The MasteryKeys Applied Mathematics workbook focuses on the students’ ability to solve problems, think critically, and calculate workplace mathematics. Lessons and practice questions involve setting up and solving a variety of problems and performing the types of calculations that occur in an actual workplace. Students will expand their knowledge and learn more about:

 

  • the four basic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division— and when to use them.
  • converting numbers between fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • solving problems that deal with negative numbers, money, and time.
  • ways to apply the four operations by calculating averages, rates, ratios, and conversions.
  • test-taking tips.

 

                                                                             ALGEBRA 1    

      Algebra 1 will help you review and learn important concepts and skills.  These are some levels of knowledge: 

  • Recall and reproductions 
  • Skills and concepts/basic reasoning
  • Calculation of equations, inequalities, slope, factoring, simplifying expressions, graphing, maps and tables
