Notes and Reminders

  • I will begin testing students, Wednesday- Thursday on reading a variety of words that we have read so far which includes 3 letter words, blends, digraphs and double letters. Students will also circle tricky words that I dictate, and I will test  all sounds learned so far and an oral reading with comprehension questions.
  • Please have your child wear shoes appropriate for P.E. every Monday.
  • Homework is taken for a grade. It will be 4 pts per week, incomplete homework will be completed in detention during recess time.
    • Wednesday, 3/4- My class can wear mix matched clothes to celebrate Dr. Seuss on their library day. Each class will have a different day, depending on which day they go to the library.
    • Friday, 3/13- Raffle tickets are due.
    • Monday, 3/16 – No School, Teacher Work Day
    • Tuesday, 3/17 – VIPS Spring Carnival – students must have sold at least 1 book of raffle tickets in order to attend.
    • Friday, 3/20 -  Alternate Dress Day $1
    • Friday, 3/20 – Report Cards Go Home
    • Friday, 3/27- Spirit Friday, Elite Mustang, Conduct Champion, Label Cash-in
    • Tuesday, 3/31 - Smoothie King Day $3
    • Thursday, 4/2- Kindergarten Registration for 2020-2021 School Year. No school for Kindergarten students.
    • Monday, 4/6- Easter Party, Parents are invited to the party.12:30-1:30. $1 Movie 8:30-10:00.

In class… Math: We will…model, count and write numbers to 20 and orally count to 100 by ones and tens. Language Arts: We will review double consonant blends such as ll, ck, ff, gg, dd, mm, bb, ss, tt, zz, nn, pp, rr  Review words with digraphs: ch and sh, th, qu, ng and blends: fr, cr, fl, dr, st,tw, sp, sw, pl, gr, sk.  Review all letters and sounds.  Practice New Tricky Words: out, do, have, new, who, orange, blue, yellow, good Review tricky words: of, all, from, was, me, he, she, we, I, a, see, the, my, to, go, come, like, want, down, you, play, here, one, look. Read books and engage in various comprehension activities throughout the week. Participate in “listening games” such as being able to recognize the first and last sounds of words and rhyme. Participate in reading groups and workstations.  Write and illustrate in journals.
