Welcome! My name is Mrs. Baker and I am pleased to say that I will be your child's second grade teacher this year. A wonderful new school year is about to begin and I would like to take this opportunity to help you get to know a little about me, both personally and professionally. I look forward to getting to know you, as well.
I have been part of the Northfield teaching community for over 25 exciting years. Northfield has also been my home for 30 years. I'm thrilled to be teaching the children in the community in which I live!
My undergraduate work was completed at Philadelphia University and Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree with Highest Honors. I also hold a MS Ed. Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy. I enjoy reading, gardening, tennis, bicycling, and exercising with my husband. My son attends Stockton University as part of a dual degree program for both his Bachelor's and Master's degree while maintaining a Dean's List 4.0 GPA.
My mission as a teacher is to enthusiastically inspire and motivate my students to believe in themselves and their ability to reach for the stars. Through my teaching, I will strive to help each child develop good moral character and high academic achievement. My desire is for each child to become a contributing member of our school, community, and world. I am driven to help each child attain their dream, succeed in whatever they choose to do, and be proud of their accomplishments!
