Counseling Services


The following is a brief description of some of the services available to students, parents and staff.

 

 

 

Classroom Programs

 


Orientation

The counselor will meet with each class at the beginning of the school year to introduce herself and the counseling services available.

 

 

Bully Prevention:

The counselor will meet will each class in the fall to teach bully prevention.

 

 

Developmental:
The counselor will meet with classes to conduct age-appropriate lessons and activities based on the program modules. Using a CASEL Competencies & Skills approach, along with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Mindsets & Behaviors, grade level lessons and activities have been designed for students in grades K-5 to teach the following:


Self-Management

Social-Awareness

Self-Awareness

Responsible Decision Making

Relationship Skills

 

Students will receive a lesson summary after each module’s delivery via backpack or email for parents.


 

Special Needs:
Activities with a special focus may be conducted with a class if a special need is perceived. For instance, sessions on grief can be conducted if a class is affected by loss.
