Welcome to the start of a brand new school year. As your child’s special education teacher I hope you join me in looking forward to another successful, challenging, and fun-filled year. With your encouragement, your child will be part of many exciting and rewarding experiences.
As your child’s Replacement Teacher I will be providing Reading and Writing services in the resource center. The instruction will follow the curriculum as closely as possible; however, the remediation of the goals and objectives on your child’s IEP will be a strong focus. As your child’s In-Class Support Teacher I will go into the general education classroom for Mathematics. My main responsibility is to modify and adapt the curriculum to meet your child's needs. If you should have any questions regarding your child’s services and/or homework please do not hesitate to contact me.
Since lifelong success depends in part on learning to make responsible choices, I have developed a classroom discipline plan, which affords every student guidance in making good decisions about their behavior and thus an opportunity to learn in a positive, nurturing classroom environment. Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his/her growth, and I know that together we will make a difference in this process.
Your involvement is so very important to ensuring that your child’s school years are successful ones. Therefore, if you have any questions or concerns during the school year, please feel free to send in a note, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or get in touch with me by phone at extension 109. I will make every effort to contact you in a timely manner. Be assured that my goal is to work with you to ensure the success of your child this year.
