Welcome to my web page for the 2014-2015 school year.  I look forward to a year of strong student learning and productivity.  We will be reading a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction, including Shakespeare's famous drama Romeo and Juliet, as well as Homer's epic The Odyssey. Students will also complete various writing assignments including research papers, persuasive essays, narratives, poetry, memoirs, drama and more.  Projects will be assigned to increase and enhance the learning experience. Students will design projects that integrate reading and writing with technology, art and music.

Students are expected to be prepared for class and work to the best of their ability. Homework is given daily and must be completed by the due date. Assignments are frequently updated on www.schoolrack.com/mig. In addition, students are expected to consistently read novels independently, and should expect a minimum of one book report per marking period. Students will be assessed in a variety of areas, and assessment will reflect the current AEP eighth grade grading chart.

Have a great school year!
