Dear Fourth Grade Student,                                                                                                         August 2019

Hello from Room 213!  My name is Mrs. Leyna Lillia and I’ll be your fourth grade teacher.  I’m looking forward to our exciting year ahead.

I live in South Plainfield with my family.  My daughter Mackensie just celebrated her 8th Birthday in August and is starting 3rd grade.  My son Spencer is 4 ½ years old and is in preschool. This summer we did a lot of swimming and reading.  We love to go to the library! We also went to Disney World!

I think you are really going to enjoy this year.  We will be learning many new things. Here are a few! We will be reading various fiction and non-fiction texts.  With GO Math, we will explore: Geometry, Fractions, Decimals, and Measurement. Our Science units include: Energy, Waves, Earth, and Structure and Function.   In Social Studies, we will be studying and celebrating New Jersey: Lenape, Colonization, The Revolutionary War and much more.

In preparation for the year, please send in the following items on the first day of school:

  • Crayola colored pencils (12/set)

  • 3 dozen Ticonderoga pencils

  • Folders, 2 pocket, 3 hole (4pk-Blue, red, green yellow)

  • 3 Wide-Ruled Marble Composition Notebooks

  • 1 150 page pack wide ruled paper

  • 2 Expo Dry Erase Markers

  • 1 Black Sharpie-Fine Tip

  • 1 Black Sharpie-Ultra Fine Tip

  • 2- .21 oz. Elmer glue sticks
