Mrs. Leyna Lillia
4th Grade Teacher - Liberty Corner School
Dear Fourth Grade Student, August 2018
Hello from Room 213! My name is Mrs. Leyna Lillia and I’ll be your fourth grade teacher. I’m looking forward to our exciting year ahead.
I live in South Plainfield with my family. My daughter Mackensie just celebrated her 7th Birthday in August and is starting 2nd grade. My son Spencer is 3 ½ years old and is starting preschool. This summer we did a lot of swimming and reading. We love to go to the library! We also went to Disney World for the first time!
I think you are really going to enjoy this year. We will be learning many new things. Here are a few! We will be reading various fiction and non-fiction texts. With GO Math, we will explore: Geometry, Fractions, Decimals, and Measurement. Our Science units include: Energy, Waves, Earth, and Structure and Function. In Social Studies, we will be studying and celebrating New Jersey: Lenape, Colonization, The Revolutionary War and much more.
In preparation for the year, please send in the following items on the first day of school:
Crayola colored pencils (12/set)
3 dozen Ticonderoga pencils
Folders, 2 pocket, 3 hole (4pk-Blue, red, green yellow)
3 composition books
1 pencil case
2- .21 oz. elmer glue sticks
Optional: Markers for class use
1 old sock (for erasing your whiteboard)
I look forward to meeting you at Open House on Wednesday, September 5th from 2-3:00. Our first full day of school is Thursday, September 6th (dismissal at 3:15p.m.). Enjoy the rest of the summer!
