Drama students should understand that a great deal is expected from them. You must be a mature and responsible student in order to be in this class. There are stiff penalties for misbehavior in such a liberal class setting.
Policies and Procedures:
Beginning of class: Enter into the classroom prepared to learn! Have all materials ready and accessible. As you enter the class put your book bags and materials at your assigned seat. Begin the bell work written on the board. After the bell has rang and roll has been called you may then bring any important business to my attention (i.e. absences, tardies, id violations, or make up work.)
Absences:
YOU are responsible for arranging make up work. I will not ask you for your work and will automatically record a zero if the work is not turned in within the allotted time. It is school policy that you are allowed one day for everyday that you are absent. You will have to make up any journal entries that you miss before the next Journal check. The Journal topics and the class activities you have missed are written daily on the board; so a peer will have them written down for you to see. Do not ask what we did while you were gone unless you have already checked with a peer. It is Important to be present on Presentation days because it is very difficult to make-up these assignments and you may be given an alternative assignment to replace the grade. Both French and Speech are full of presentation days.
- You will have at least three days advanced notice before a test is given. So, be prepared to take any test or quiz the day you return or with the rest of the class. Quizzes may be spontaneous.
