Dear Parents,
We hope this letter finds you all well. We have compiled four more weekly packets of assignments for the children. The digital resource assignments can be found on the lpsb.org website. Click on Digital Help, K-5th grade resources, and then on 4th grade math packet and 4th grade ELA packet. You can either print these out or just work them on paper. The science and social studies assignments will be different. They are listed below weekly. None of these assignments will be turned in or graded, but we know that you want your children to remain challenged academically throughout this unique time. These assignments will take us through May 22nd, and then the children can begin enjoying their summer break! Thank you!
Week 1 - 4/27-5/1
ELA - Digital resources pgs. 11-14 and write two journal entries (just telling us what you did that day, how you're feeling, something exciting going on, etc. - you can share one at the next zoom meeting)
Math - Digital resources pgs. 3, 5, 6, 7, and 10
Science - go to a-zanimals.com and choose an endangered animal to research and write a report about (see attached info. below)
Social Studies - watch Elementary Video Adventure: Inventors and Inventions on discoveryEd - click on teacher guide and answer the 4 comprehension questions - discuss together
Week 2 - 5/4-5/8
ELA - Digital resources pgs. 15-18 and write two journal entries (you can share one at the next zoom meeting)
Math - Digital resources pgs. 11, 12, 15, 16
Science - complete There's Still Time worksheet (see attached below)
Social Studies - begin Invention Convention project - research famous inventors and write an informative paragraph about one inventor of your choice - be sure to incude why the inventor is important, accomplishments of this inventor, and facts about the inventor or their inventions
Week 3 - 5/11-5/15
ELA - Digital resources pgs. 19-26 and write two journal entries
Math - Digital resources pgs. 19, 20, 21, 24
Science - complete Endangered Animal Illustration (see attached below)
Social Studies - Create an invention (see attached info below) - work on invention project that you can present at zoom meeting next week
Week 4 - 5/18-5/22
ELA - Digital resources pgs. 30-35 and two journal entries
Math - Digital resources pgs. 25, 26, 29, 31
Science - have your endangered animal illustration ready to present at the zoom meeting
Social Studies - have your Invention Convention project ready to present at the zoom meeting
