A Senior's Guide to Planning for His/Her Future

 

SEPTEMBER:

*Register to take the ACT-send TOPS a copy using code 1595

*Register to Vote 

* Males register with Selective Service

*Evaluate 3 colleges/trade school admission procedures & Requirements

*Attend Tangi College Night and Open Houses

*Create a FASFA ID@ fsaid.ed.gov

*Have a parent create a FASFA ID @ fsaid.gov

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER:

*Attend College Fairs and Open Houses

*Submit artwork for the LELA Holiday Art Scholarship

*Apply for 3 admissions at the top schools of your choice

You may begin completing your FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov 

LSU and other colleges begin accepting admissions for honor students and scholarships 

DECEMBER:

*Review all information on the FAFSA with a parent

*Submit all completed admissions and college applications

JANUARY:

 

*If you haven't already done so -Complete FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov 

*Admissions procedures to SLU, LSU, BRCC, etc. should have been done by this month

 

FEBRUARY:

*Confirm that the colleges you have applied for have you registered to attend

*A letter should arrive stating that your FAFSA has been processed and is complete

*If you have not completed the FAFSA yet, do so now ASAP!

MARCH:

*Promptly respond to any requests to the college admissions/ Financial Aid Office

*Schools should have notified you of admission acceptance and financial aid rewards

*Continue to seek and apply for private scholarships

*Review your FAFSA/Student Aid Report for accuracy. If necessary, make corrections.

APRIL:

*Make your final decision on which college you will attend and complete all forms

*Review your financial reward letter with your parents

*Return your reward letter to the college you are attending

MAY:

* Congratulations- GRADUATION!

*Arrange housing and a meal plan with your new school.

*Attend Freshmen orientation at your future school-they should have contacted you for this.

*Send your final transcript to your new school

*Find out when payments for tutition and fees are due

*APPLY for a summer job to save some money!

* Admisión procedimientos a SLU , LSU , BRCC , etc deberían haberse realizado por este mes


febrero :

* Confirme que los colegios que han solicitado que se han inscrito para asistir a
* Una carta debe llegar afirmando que su FAFSA se ha procesado y se completa
* Si usted no ha completado la FAFSA sin embargo , que lo hagan ahora lo antes posible!

MARZO :

* Responder con prontitud a cualquier solicitud a la Oficina de admisiones de la universidad / Ayuda Financiera
* Las escuelas deberían haberle notificado de recompensas aceptación admisión y ayuda financiera
* Continuar para buscar y solicitar becas privadas
* Revise su Informe de Ayuda FAFSA / Estudiante para la exactitud. Si es necesario, hacer correcciones.

de abril:

 Tome su decisión final sobre qué universidad a la que asistir y completar todas las formas
* Revise su carta recompensa financiera con sus padres
* Devolver su carta recompensa a la universidad a la que asiste

MAYO:

* Felicidades - GRADUACIÓN !
* Organizar la vivienda y un plan de comidas con su nueva escuela.
* Asistir a la orientación de primer año en su futura escuela - que deberían haber puesto en contacto contigo para esto.
* Envía tu expediente final a su nueva escuela
* Averigüe cuándo los pagos por tutition y honorarios son debidos
* Aplica para un empleo de verano para ahorrar algo de dinero!
