Welcome to 5th Grade! My name is Kristen Gioia and I have been teaching in WNY since 2001. I will be teaching Science and Health to all 5th Grade Homerooms, as well as Social Studies to Homerooms 256 and 266. Our goal is to have a successful year of learning and helping one another. Class Rules:
-Please have fully chromebooks, notebooks, textbooks, and pencils each day.
-Please raise your hand and wait to be called upon.
-Please only one speaker at a time.
-Any missed or incomplete assignments will be counted as a zero, unless you are absent from school.
-When absent all work must be made up, you have 2 days to complete the missing assignments.
-We must respect each other at all times.
-Homeroom will be posted on my daily homework page, the link is on my website.
-Students who are caught plagiarizing or using AI (ChatGPT or others) will receive a ZERO on that assignment. Likewise, students who are caught cheating will receive a ZERO for that assignment. All students involved will receive a zero, not just the one that is caught.

Test- 30%, Quiz- 25%, Classwork- 20% ,Project 15%, Particiption-10%,
Health:
Quiz- 40%, Classwork-30%, Project 20%, Participation- 10%
