Mrs. Cathy Johnson

I have been a Resource teacher at Albany Middle since 1999 and I have taught both Math and ELA. I am currently teaching Resource Math for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I am also co-teaching in the Inclusion Math classes for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade this year with Mrs. Dees, Mrs. Bree Saxon, and Mrs. Aydell. I grew up in Ponchatoula and graduated at PHS in 1979. I obtained my BA in Special Education/ESL from SELU and continue to live in Ponchatoula with my husband, Emmett. My teaching certificate contains certifications in the areas of Mild /Moderate for grades 1st-12th as well as a certificate in English as a Second Language. I have three children, Bridgit, my oldest has flown on to heaven ahead of us, Allyss who is married now and has 2 little girls. My son, Emmett, is now married to Kayla! I have 5 grandchildren - Mackenzie, Katie, Christian, Norah and Elin!  My oldest grandaughter, 'Kenzie', lives with me and her Papa. We have six spoiled fur babies: Tolouse (tabby), Izzabelle (a Norwegian Forest Cat), Luna (tortoiseshell calico), Alice (grey and white tabby), Zachary (tabby) and Tink-Tink (tabby).

I am excited about beginning the new 2022-2023 school year. Homework will not be required, but practice is an important part of math and is required because in math, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! So check out the calendar on this website for a link to those practice assignments. I appreciate parents that are involved in their students' education! Please contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns.
