Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. I'm Joanna Garaudy, a graduate of SLU. I'm excited about my 29th year of teaching!
6th grade ELA will focus on reading, proofreading, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and the mechanics of writing. Through this, the goal is for each and every student to become a better speaker, writer, and reader. In order to achieve this, we will complete various writing assignments, class assignments, and class projects. It is important that your child bring materials to class daily and to CHARGE CHROMEBOOKS EVERY NIGHT. We will begin with Unit 1:Hatchet, followed by Out of the Dust, If Stones Could Speak, and Steve Jobs. Be sure your to check the calendar daily for important notes and upcoming events.
