    I would like to welcome you and your child to my class. We have a wonderful and busy year ahead of us, but by the end of this school year, your child will be able to read decodable books to you.

Skills for the Week of December 15th

-Please check your child's folder every night. All homework should be completed and returned.   

  

ELA-     We will be working on the letters Hh, Rr, Kk, Ee, Gg, Bb, Uu, Dd, Cc, Oo, Ii, Nn, Ff, Pp, Aa, Mm, Ss, Tt.  Students have to identify the capital and lowercase letter, reproduce the correct sounds, nameand identify pictures and words that begin with the initial sound,  and write the capital and lowercase letters correctly on the handwriting lines.

 

 Math-   We will learn how to make number combinations that equal up to 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10.  Examples:  3and 3,  5 and 2, 2 and 8, 1 and 9, etc.

 

 SIGHT WORDS-  Identify and read the words- gray, play, white, of, but, to, do, can, up, by, my, yellow, did, brown,like,is, it, if, in, its, red, blue, green, orange, black, yellow, said, go, I, the, can, red, blue, A/a, we, at

 

Reminders

 We have 2 snacks in the afternoon. One is recess and canteen-where students can purchase a snack(students may also eat a snack that they bring from home) and the other is given to us at the lunchroom at 1:40.

 

-Please practice tying shoes, fastening snaps/buttons, and fastening belts (if your child wears one to school)
