Mrs. Despain's personal mission statement: As an educator my personal mission statement is to empower my students to become active and cooperative learners, as well as critical thinkers; to challenge students to reach their highest potential; and to create a positive and safe environment in my classroom in which my students can learn and grow.
Welcome to the new school year (2015-2016). I will be teaching English III and IV. In the fall semester, I will also have a Speech 1 class. I hope that everyone is ready to explore new avenues in American, British, and world literature as well as practicing the art of composition in its various forms and the language of communication. You will be required to complete written assignments on a regular basis which will comprise a major portion of your grade for the nine weeks. Do not allow yourself to put off completing assignments until the last minute because you may be overwhelmed if you do. Please have an open mind and a creative spirit and plan for a fabulous semester. See you in class!
