Welcome to Mrs. Fenison's Home Page!
I teach Business Computer Applications (BCA) and Computer Technology Literacy (CTL) and I look forward to working with the students. The 2019-2020 school year is going to be packed with fun and exciting activities.
Business Computer Applications is designed to acquaint students with the advanced principles associated with information processing. Students study advanced computer concepts, software applications, and computer systems. Emphasis is placed on skill development in using technology to perform advanced information processing. Topics of study include computer concepts, word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software applications, which will increase in difficulty in the second semester. Communication skills, keyboarding, decision-making, technology and critical thinking skills are reinforced in this course through business application projects.
Computer Technology Literacy provides skills training and assessment for a broad range of computing concepts and techniques, including competency in computer hardware and software, operating systems, word processing and spreadsheet functions, networks and the Internet, electronic mail, and an understanding of the impact of computing and the Internet in society. The course is designed to prepare students for the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) which provides students with the foundation of knowledge they need to succeed in environments that require the use of computers and the Internet. With IC³ Certification, the students are instantly recognized as someone with the critical entry-level skills needed to effectively use the latest computer and Internet technology to achieve business objectives, expand productivity, improve profitability, and provide a competitive edge.
In order for students to succeed, they must attend class regularly, complete all assignments and put forth their best effort on every task.
