Accelerated Math Information
Accelerated math is a computer based program that we use in 3rd through 8th grades. We put the students names and information in the computer and assign them objectives based on things they have already learned. The computer then keeps track of which objectives they have practiced, tested, and mastered. The more accelerated math they do the more successful they will be, it is kind of like the A/R program. Please remember that your child will be responsible for completing at least 1 practice and 1 test during every new 2 week period and I consider a passing grade to be 80% or higher. If your child should do poorly on an assignment they will have to do another one to get an acceptable grade, so they might have to do more than one practice or more than one test. This is also an excellent way to bring up their grade, they can keep doing and turning in as many as they want until they get the grade they want to have in the grade book. The due dates are listed below:

As an additional incentive we offer to take the students in each grade level who have mastered at least sixty objectives on a reward field trip. Last year we went to Headpinz in Fort Myers, we might do that again this year because it was so much fun, or we may do something different for this year so encourage your child to do their accelerated math. Thank you for your help keeping your child organized and on task.
