Welcome to Mr. DiTomaso's 5th & 6th Grade LLD Class!

Hello, students and families!

Welcome to another exciting school year at Public School #2! My name is Mr. DiTomaso, and I am excited to be your child's 5th and 6th grade Learning and Language Disabilities (LLD) teacher.

My goal is to create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment where every student feels valued, builds confidence, and reaches their fullest potential.

In our classroom, we recognize that every student learns differently. Through small-group instruction, hands-on activities, technology, individualized support, and cooperative learning, students will develop the academic, social, and independent learning skills needed for success.

A Little About Me

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading (especially the Harry Potter series!), listening to country music, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I am also a big sports fan, especially ice hockey and golf!

I believe learning should be fun, meaningful, and accessible to everyone. I look forward to working together to make this a successful school year!

Our Classroom

Welcome to our 5th and 6th grade LLD classroom!

Our classroom is designed to provide a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students receive instruction tailored to their individual learning needs.

Students participate in whole-group lessons, small-group instruction, hands-on activities, collaborative projects, educational games, and technology-based learning.

We focus on building academic skills while also encouraging independence, problem-solving, communication, and positive relationships with others.

Classroom Expectations

We follow five important expectations:

  1. Be Respectful: Treat classmates, teachers, and school materials with kindness.

  2. Be Responsible: Come prepared, complete assignments, and take ownership of your learning.

  3. Be Ready to Learn: Listen, participate, and always try your best.

  4. Be Safe: Follow classroom and school rules.

  5. Be a Team Player: Help others, work cooperatively, and celebrate everyone's successes.

Our Daily Routine

Our classroom follows a structured daily schedule that provides consistency while allowing flexibility to meet student needs.

Each day includes opportunities for direct instruction, guided practice, independent work, movement breaks, collaborative activities, and review.

Students are encouraged to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and celebrate their progress.

Our Classroom Motto:

Work Hard. Be Kind. Have Fun. Keep Growing!
