School Policies
Please know I will enforce all school policies; no exceptions will be made. You are responsible for knowing all school policies. Please read the Memorial High School Handbook located online on the main website. It is also given to every student.
Dress Code
The dress code will be enforced. Under the Memorial High School Handbook, "Schools uniforms must be worn; when the student is in the building or on school grounds...any student in violation of our policy will face consequences.
With that said, please be in uniform i.e. school shirt, black or khaki pants, and ID around your neck. NO JEANS
Tardy/Cuts
Under the Memorial High School Handbook, "If a student is late to class, the Class Teacher may assign detention in the auditorium on the same day at 2:30 pm"(58).
Unless the student provides a note from a teacher or administrator as to why he or she is late, the student will be given detention if late for homeroom or class.
Cutting is not tolerated in Memorial High School.
The cutting policy is as follows:
1st Cut- detention + parent notification
2nd Cut- detention + parent conference
3rd Cut - Saturday detention + parent conference
4th Cut- Extended Saturday detention + parent conference
5th Cut- Out-of School Suspenion + parent conference + loss of credit/30 day probation
6th Cut - Dropped from class
Cheating/Plagiarism
"Plagiarism is presenting someone else's words, ideas, or data as your work"(74). I DO NOT tolerate plagiarism. As young adults, you are responsible for your work.
The consequences for plagiarism are the following:
Strike 1: Student-teacher conference after class
Strike 2: Conference + a grade of zero
Strike 3: Conference + a grade of zero + a scheduled parent-teacher conference
