Hello!
My name is Geraldine Poublanc and I will be your child’s 3rd grade teacher this year. I come from France, from a big town called Toulouse. I graduated with a Master degree in Law and a Master degree in Linguistic and I hold a French Certification in grades K-12. This year is going to be my third year at Mamou Elementary School and my twelve years in Louisiana. Before to come in Louisiana, I taught in Africa for 7 years.
I am very excited to work with you and your child in a productive, fun, and educational experience.
As you may know, many people throughout the world speak French and through French your child will be learning the skills and concepts required by the State of Louisiana. I would like to thank you for the confidence that you put in the immersion program and to encourage you to expose your child on any occasion to a French environment.
I have developed a set of rules, consequences and rewards aligned with the student code of conduct. They are attached to this letter, along with a behavior contract, some school and classroom forms. Please read all of these documents carefully and do not hesitate to ask for any clarifications via email.
Also, as part of our communication process, each student will have a green folder they will bring to school everyday. This folder is used to send information such as school forms, notes from teachers, or Progress Reports.

I would like to remind you how is important for your child to attend school everyday.
This year, we have adopted a “No Homework” policy. Throughout the year I will provide optional activities for your child to practice the skills at home but this extra practice is not mandatory and will be in English.
Finally, we would like to remind you to follow the school’s uniform policy.
