Welcome to Speech and Language! (2024-2025 school year)
Speech and Language therapy is all about helping your child become an effective communicator.
Hi, there!
I'm Tessa Andry and I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist at Albio Sires #4 since February, 2022. I earned my Master's Degree from Kean University, and I have had experiences in a variety of settings (healthcare, hospitals, and schools). Being a school-based SLP is where I truly feel I belong. I love working with students to help maximize their potential!
We focus on the communication goals written in your childs' IEP which can be language or articulation based. Producing speech sounds correctly (articulation), answering wh- questions, categorization skills, problem solving, increasing grammar skills, organization of language, describing, and vocabulary skills are just a few examples of areas that we target in speech therapy!
Speech sessions are typically thirty minutes, and occurr once or twice a week. Students may have speech sessions in a small group setting or on an individual basis- this all depends on how it is written in each students IEP.
This year, I am servicing the students in Mr. Searfoss, Mrs. Kerley, Mr. Artiga, Mrs. DelDuca, Mrs Avendano, Mrs. Jioui, and Mrs. Mauthe's classes, who receive Speech and Language related services. My classroom is #324, located on the third floor, at the east end of the building.
I can be reached at extension #54324 and my email is [email protected]. I look forward to working with all my students this year and getting to know them and their families as the year progresses!
