Mr. Lloyd
Welcome to the website for Physical Science, Honors Physics, CP and Honors Chemistry!
Assignments and homework are posted daily in Google Classroom. Students, click the link on the left of this page for access.
Physical Science
Physical Science is designed to provide a foundation in the physical sciences for those students who may not plan to emphasize the sciences in their education after high school. In this course, the student will study five general areas of physical science: chemistry, planetary motion, the physics of earth systems, human activity and energy, and sustainability. Teacher demonstrations will be used to help the student to visualize the concepts covered.
Honors Physics
Honors Physics is designed to challenge the student who plans to pursue advanced education after high school. It is especially recommended for the student who plans to study engineering, medicine or any of the sciences. In this course, the student will study many areas of physics: Forces and Motion, Fundamental Forces, Kepler’s Laws, Energy, the Physics of the Geosphere, Wave Properties, Electromagnetic Radiation, and Electricity and Magnetism. Each area will be divided into subtopics and approached both theoretically and quantitatively. Teacher demonstrations will be used to help the student to visualize the concepts covered.
CP and Honors Chemistry
CP and Honors Chemistry is recommended for students planning to enter college. The course includes Structure and Properties of Matter, Chemistry of Abiotic Systems, Bonding and Chemical Reactions, Nuclear Chemistry, and Sustainability. The applications of chemistry in industry and society and the use of technology are also emphasized.
