Welcome to Kindergarten!
We are going to have such a great year together!
Kindergarten is a time to meet new friends, enjoy new beginnings, and learn lots of new and exciting things each and every day! There will be many great experiences and we are going to learn so much!
Kindergarten Curriculum:
We will learn new letters and sounds and using those letters to complete writing activites. In math, we are going to be learning about numbers. Our important concepts will include sorting, counting, reading and writing numbers, graphing, telling time to the hour, recognizing and know the value of coins, and solving addition and subtraction problems. Families can help at home by reading to and with their child daily. Also, by encouraging them to write and draw. Young children learn as they play, and their play is their work.
Communicating:
I love to communicate with you! I will be communicating through notes, emails, and calls. Please feel free to contact me whenever. I am looking forward to a great year!
Supply List:
Masks: Please have your child wear a child size mask. They should have a backup mask in a Ziploc bag in their backpack as well.
Snack: Your child should bring a water bottle to school daily and a healthy, nut-free snack to school. Please also keep a towel in their backpack. We will use the towel to sit on during outdoor snack. We will keep the same towel in school Monday - Friday. You can wash the towels on Fridays.
Photos: Please send in two photos of your child. It is best if the picture is only of your child. No siblings or parents. One is for Student of the Week and one is for a project.
Smocks: Please send in an oversized T-shirt for a smock. The smock should come to school in a large Ziploc bag with your child's name on it and will stay in their backpack daily.
Supply List: Due to Covid I am requesting each child brings in their own pencil case. I prefer the pencil case to be a hard plastic one that I can stack. You can get one for a dollar. Please see the photo.

Donations:
Donations are always welcome in Kindergarten! Below is a list of items that we are always in need of. Of course donations are voluntary, but always appreciated.
Washable Markers (Thick or Thin)
Playdough
Ziploc Bags (Big or Small)
Baby Wipes (We use daily for all the little cleaners!)
Looking forward to a fabulous year!
