What is Community Pathways?
This pathway focuses on structured, school-based instruction combined with real-world vocational experiences. Students engage in a mix of on-site and off-site vocational programming to develop job readiness and workplace skills in a variety of settings. Functional academics—such as budgeting, telling time, reading schedules, and cooking—are integrated with independent living skills, including hygiene, meal planning, and household management.
Instruction also emphasizes the development of social and communication skills, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and the use of technology to support greater independence. An increase in behavioral support is incorporated to help students manage challenges effectively and promote successful participation across all environments.
