February 11 class Spelling Bee

* February 12 and 15 NO SCHOOL for President's Day 

* February 18 is the 100th Day of School

* February 25 the school wide Spelling Bee

 

 Homework is posted at end of plans everyday!  Check daily plans and calendar

 

* SCHOLARS MUST COMPLETE KIDS A-Z READING HOMEWORK ON THE NIGHT IT IS ASSIGNED.  IT COUNTS AS A HOMEWORK AND MUST BE COMPLETED THAT NIGHT.

  
* WE ARE WORKING ON INDIVIDUALIZED LESSONS IN i-READY DURING GUIDED READING EVERY DAY.

Reading & Writing

Week 1: Review - MAP Testing

             Reading- Fable has animal characters, problem/solution, lesson

             Phonics- Review digraphs and vowel consonant e words

             Writing- Chart facts and opinions

             Language Conventions- Review plural nouns

Week 2: Unit 3, Week 2, Imagine That - (myView workbook 1.3)

             Reading- Folktales are traditional literature that is told over and over

             Phonics- Long vowel o & u vowel consonant e

             Writing- Opinion writing, write about your favorite food

             Language Conventions- Common and proper nouns

Week 3: Unit 3, Week 3, Imagine That - (myView workbook 1.3)

             Reading- Poetry has rhyme, rhythm, repetition, and alliteration

             Phonics- Sound of e spelled e, ee, inflectional ending -ed

             Writing- Opinion writing, write about your favorite 

             Language Conventions- Introduce pronouns
