Dear First Grade Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful weekend. This week’s learning activities will be similar to last week. Options for each subject are posted on the website under the ‘Remote Learning’ tab. As of right now, we are waiting to hear what the expectations will be moving forward. These plans have been created as review activities for your student to do at home. Your student is expected to complete an hour of academic activity each day - 20 of those minutes should be spent reading. Students will choose a few assignments from the list to complete each day. Students are not expected to complete all assignments. These are choices for students. Math journals can be kept in backpacks for the time being. The activities for this week have many PDF attachments. If you are able to print these activities, that’s great! If not, that’s okay too! Your student can work on the tasks in his/her journal. Either would be an excellent option.
One of the tasks this week is to send a picture of your student’s favorite reading spot. I have attached pictures of my favorite indoor and my favorite outdoor reading spot.
I am excited for the week ahead, while also reflecting on last week. This transition is a balancing act, and I appreciate your patience with the changes. As I remind the students in the classroom, we have the power to choose how our bodies move and what words we say, as well as the attitude we bring forth. I am also opening myself up to that reminder this week.
Please let me know if there are any questions, concerns, thoughts, or successes! I would love to hear how your student is showing joy and sharing laughter.
All the Best,
