Meet the Teacher!

Mrs. Elizabeth Robbins is in her seventh year as the Choir and Piano teacher at Hammond High Magnet School. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education and is a soprano vocalist, pianist, and guitarist. Although she is an American citizen, she grew up as a missionary in several European countries throughout her whole life. It has enabled her to better understand students of many different backgrounds and has provided her with an inspiration to teach in new, exciting ways.

Last year, Mrs. Robbins was was named the HHMS High School Teacher of the Year, as well as the Tangipahoa Parish DISTRICT Teacher of the year. In 2024, she was also awarded the LMEA Barbara C. Butler Award of Excellence, which is given to a teacher who runs a high quality choral music program in a historically disadvantaged student population. She has a passion for music and has more than doubled the choir program at HHMS over the last seven years.
