Required Course Materials-- All students will need to supply the following items:
1 marble composition notebook 1 dry erase white board (for presenting virtually) 3 dry erase markers ( no red) 1 dry eraser for the white board.
Grading Plan: Grades will be generated using the Pleasantville School District grading policy.
Course Policies:
●Student Work: Students will be expected to complete assignments outside of class time on a regular basis. All students are expected to read class material, think critically and write effectively. Students are expected to use complete sentences, proper grammar and correct spelling in every written performance.
●Binder: During in-person instruction, students will be required to bring your binder to class with you every day. You will be expected to maintain a neatly organized binder for the duration of the class. Your binder will be filled with items you have created and assignments that reflect your mastery of course objectives. I will give you regular guidance on how to construct and maintain your binder.
●Group Activities: You will be working in groups on a regular basis. Your group will be given cooperative learning activities to complete. You will be expected to be an active member of your group and participation points will be assessed accordingly. You will always be graded as an individual; however your group may earn points together that will lead to a reward.
●Absences: If a student is absent, it is HIS/HER responsibility to get all late work from the teacher and return it in a timely manner. Excessive absences will be reported to the Administrative Team.

Students are required to be present in class in order to be counted as ‘present’ for the class period. Specials meets on an A/B schedule which means you will be required to be present for specials class on the assigned day. Your assigned days and time are based on which class period you are enrolled in. You can reference the calendar for the A/B schedule.

Students are required to make up all work they miss if absent. This includes being absent from school for the day and/or missing the class period for any reason. It is the responsibility of the student to find out what work needs to be made up.
