VIRTUAL LEARNING PLANS
Thank you for visiting my website to review our virtual learning plans. Class assignments will be posted within Edmodo by 9:00 a.m. each week day, and we will also assign assessments by using Edmodo. Aside from earned grades that will be posted within Synergy, I will also use email or Edmodo to provide any needed feedback. Thank you for trying your best on all assignments and assessments, and I welcome you to contact me by using email firstname.lastname@example.org , during my virtual office hours each week day from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. We will work together as a team to make the best of virtual learning until we return to school.
¡Hola amigos! I am so excited to be joining the amazing Awtrey Middle School community! I am a first generation American who grew up in a Spanish speaking household. Both of my parents were born in Cuba and came to America as political exiles in the early 1960s. Spanish was my first language and I learned how to speak English by watching shows like Electric Company and Sesame Street. My family moved to Roswell when I was 8 years old so I consider myself to be a southerner with Cuban heritage. The same year we moved to Roswell, I began taking painting classes and thus began my lifelong passion for art. I have worked as a professional fine artist for 10 years selling my paintings through galleries and art shows. I graduated from Roswell High School and the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!!!) where I majored in English and minored in Spanish. I still live in Roswell with my two sons, Henry and Charlie, a dog named Billie, and a cat named D'jango. In my spare time I love to read, go to concerts, listen to music and podcasts, hike with my kids and dog, paint, exercise and travel. I can't wait to meet my students and get started on exploring the Spanish language and rich cultures of the Spanish speaking world.
