Remote Learning Assignments

Week 5 (4/20/20):

Grades K-4:

I am giving everyone an extra week to complete any unfinished work from the last 4 weeks’ assignments. I know that schooling from home can be stressful and that I did assign a bit too much for the first month (thank you for your patience!). Take this time to work on past assignments - if you have already finished, you may watch any of the extra videos I’ve posted or review information about the Instrument Families.

Week 6 (4/27/20):

 Grades K-4:

Musical Scavenger Hunt! This week, you will go on a little scavenger hunt in your own homes. Your goal is to find some “instruments” at home that make different sounds (anything can be an instrument - pots and pans, wooden blocks, tin cans)! On a piece of paper, write down what you find and send it to Ms. Evans via Dojo or email ([email protected]). Here’s your list:

Find something in your house that:

  • Makes a steady beat

  • Makes a very high sound

  • Makes a very low sound

  • You can shake to make sound

  • You can hit to make sound

  • You can scrape to make sound

  • Doesn’t make any sound at all no matter what you do with it

  • Makes a long sound

  • Makes a short sound

  • Makes your favorite sound!

Week 7 (5/4/20):

Grades K-4:

Create your own instrument! Use any household items you may have (paper plates, rice, toilet paper tubes, yarn, rubber bands, etc.) to make your own instrument. Please send Ms. Evans a picture or video of you playing your new instrument (Dojo or email [email protected]).
